“Out beyond ideas of rightdoing and wrongdoing there is a field, I will meet you there…”
I know that the work of healing and growth takes enormous vulnerability, trust, and courage. This is why whatever you bring to our sessions, I promise to meet you soul to soul, to hold the fullness of your suffering, the vitality of your yearning, and the power of your vision for a better life with the deepest care, humility, and respect. You and I will face your suffering and your opportunities, together.
Tree with roots and branches representing who I am
Two people rowing in a boat in a river, trees with multicolored leaves on the banks, and the water and air are covered with those multicolored leaves (meaning, I will row with you, to learn how to let go like trees do in fall, and to find and embrace the gifts in life like the beautiful colors in these leaves)
In my support of you I draw upon many strands of my personal life and professional experience. As a first generation immigrant, I know what it's like to need to adapt to completely new situations and the hard work of weaving different cultures and values together. My M.A. in Clinical Psychology provides me with a broad view of life's challenges and hurdles. This training is supported by my studies in Somatic Experiencing, which helps us heal through connection with our bodies. I am also deeply informed by the work of Resonant Healing, which helps each of us develop a more compassionate voice inside of our own minds to accompany us through challenges. Having worked with folks struggling with homelessness, addiction, and incarceration, I've sat, mourned, and supported people in some of the most hopeless situations in our society. My Rabbinic education and ordination expand my relationship to history, oppression, and resilience. At the same time, learning, working, and building long-standing relationships with spiritual leaders from many traditions, have taught me how to support people in finding the spiritual audacity for their own unique spiritual paths, and the powerful role of connecting with one's own ancestors. Indigenous American and African American teachers have been particularly powerful for me in this regard. My work supporting folx doing environmental/climate healing and justice work inform my understanding of healthy anger, frustration, and even rage. My studies with Joanna Macy and Work That Reconnects expand my capacity to support people in sacred grief and empowerment, as well as building deeper and more intimate relationships with our wider family of kin in nature, all around and inside of us. I am also deeply informed by Appreciative Inquiry, which guides me to work with people from a perspective of building on their strengths, inspiration, vision, and resilience.
